• this blog is dedicated to my own warriors spin-off series, which is based off of the universe from the original erin hunter books. i’m currently working on the characters’ designs, then i will move on to location concept art & fleshing out the storyline. here’s hoping i won’t get burnt out too soon lol
i also upload warriors-related content & more on my toyhouse page ⤸
Well. I was bored. So I redrew this awful excuse of an art cover, and in their own style, to see if I could do better. I think I did better. It’s not perfect though. Not enough details. Oh and by the way, it’s SUPER easy to do this kind of art. They have a dirty secret. I will do a speedpaint but… The covers… They just use the finger tool on cat photo. (And do a little redraw, and a LOT of color saturation)
I’ve been keeping these to myself for awhile, since I’m lazy af, but now they’ve arrived! I am seriously in love with Rootpaw’s fur color and pattern >v< It almost looks like a maze or those weird streaks you’d see on tree bark, he also has a super stylish fringe like his dad djgjkfvf-
And Needlepaw is a fuzzy super-duper adorable bean with those fluffy cheeks and blush on them just like her mom
My headcanon: those cats who were named after others or those who were reincarnations wear something that resemble their name/name of the cat they were named after. In Rootpaw’s case, since he’s a “continuation” of Tree, he wears a sort-of very small piece of a tree root with some autumn leaves to match the palette, and in Needlepaw’s case, she was named after Needletail, so she wears two small pine branches full of bright green needles
I really hope this is okay to call it “my headcanon”, since this idea has been spreading around since “The Power of Three”, I just tried to look at it from a different angle - they wear all this stuff not because they are special, but because it is some kind of tradition cats hold in loving memory of a fallen cat
